More News…

As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been AWOL for a while.  The past few weeks have been a combination of waning motivation, the busyness of work/family obligations, and obviously from the last post; injury.  I know I promised “more details to follow” and they will, but right now I need to talk about something much less narcissistic.

This past Sunday afternoon my hometown was ground zero for an F2-3 tornado.  Essentially, a storm crossed Lake Huron, waltzed up the beach in Goderich Ontario, and decided to take a stroll into the town square.  I’ll leave the detailed reporting to the pros, however I will touch on a few points; Although the town is devastated, the casualties and injuries seem to be at a minimum, considering it occurred at 4:00 on a Sunday afternoon 37 injuries, and 1 fatality for a crowded summer afternoon is remarkable.  My family and their neighbours came out of the event relatively unscathed which puts my mind at ease, however the town is months away from putting the pieces back together.  My heart goes out to them, and I’m currently investigating how I can aide in the relief efforts.

Thanks for reading, I’ve attached a video of the aerial survey completed after the storm which tells the story better than I ever could.
